Try to determine what your needs are and the details of your project. Also come up with a rough idea of what your budget is. You will need to do these things anyway, no matter who you choose to work on your project. Then answer these three questions:
- Are you and all involved parties motivated and dedicated to making the project a success? Strange as it seems, this often gets overlooked.
- What is the purpose of this project? The project’s audience, goals, features, specification and timeline must be documented (or the first phase of the project should be to do this.)
- Is the project adequately resourced, including expertise, time, materials, and funding? There is often a lot of work on the client-side for websites, brochures, etc. Actual content is really up to you.
